Elvis's Story
Elvis is an adorable 35-pound terrier-Chihuahua mix with a big personality! Though he's not a "Hound Dog" and he can't sing like his famous namesake, he certainly knows how to shake his hips and charm everyone he meets!

Elvis is a very healthy boy, just under 4 years old. He spent over a year in a home, but after being mishandled, he became reactive and was "Returned to Sender" (aka - returned to Red Barn Rescue). Since then, we’ve been carefully rebuilding his trust — and now he is happy to be a lap dog and is gentle and "Love Me Tender" affectionate again.

Elvis goes on two walks a day, which he absolutely loves, enjoys outings and road trips with Red Barn volunteers — a true "Good Luck Charm" on any adventure! He gets along well with smaller dogs but may feel overwhelmed by large, active dogs.

Because of his past experience, Elvis needs an experience owner and handler who will give him time to trust and feel secure during the transition to a new home. "Don't Be Cruel"! He needs an all adult home, as kids probably wouldn't see the nervousness disguised by his cute exterior.

Elvis would enjoy having a fenced yard to explore, sniff and run some zoomies, but he would also do well without one as long as his adopter is committed to providing nice, lengthy daily walks.

We know Elvis’s perfect match is out there! He deserves a true forever home, and he is ready to meet and charm you! We know that you just "Can't Help Falling in Love" with Elvis!

"Are You Lonesome Tonight?"
