Meet Elroy
THIS IS A COURTESY LISTING ---- This dog is not in foster care with BAPBR and we make no guarantees about his/her health or temperament. We are providing a service to Del Norte County Animal Control to help with adoption. Please contact the shelter directly if you are interested in meeting or adopting this dog--their info is below.
Meet Elroy! He came to us underweight, very mistrustful, with thin fur due to fleas. It actually took him several days to warm to us, and still has trust issues with humans. We're happy to report that with regular feedings and flea treatments, his fur is grown in nicely and he has put on some weight! He's a high energy young adult, who loves to play! He sometimes gets so obsessed with a toy, he'll actually "guard" it and can get snappy about it. Due to his trust issues and resource guarding tendencies, he would do best in a home with an experienced human, and no small children. He's turning into quite the handsome fellow of a nice, medium size! Anyone interested in Elroy should plan on coming out to spend time with him several times, to really get to know him. Born Again Pit Bull Rescue (BAPBR) regularly works with the wonderful volunteers at the Del Norte County Animal Control Shelter located out in rural Crescent City, CA (a small coastal town on the OR/CA border). They have a very small shelter with small indoor 3x6 kennel runs, low foot traffic, odd adoption viewing hours and it rains a lot which means the dogs can't always come outside to play--so we want YOU to see some of their really great dogs that they have up for adoption. It's only a short 5-hour drive from Portland to adopt your new family member!
Del Norte County Animal Control is located in Crescent City, CA. They are open Monday thru Friday from 8am to 5pm. They are closed Saturday and Sunday.
