Elora's Story
Hi, I’m Elora, but my friends call me El. I’m a 4-year-old, 65-pound Shar Pei/German Shepherd mix with the kind of gentle spirit that blooms slowly but beautifully. If you’re looking for a calm, loyal companion with a shy start and a sweet finish, I just might be your girl.

It takes me a little time to warm up to new people—men, women, kids—I’m timid at first with everyone. But once I trust you? Oh, I’m yours. Sweet, snuggly, and soft-eyed in that “you’re my whole world” kind of way. I’m a quiet observer, not a crowd-surfer, and I’d do best with patient humans who understand that trust is earned, not rushed.

Other dogs? Now that’s my scene. I love being with my foster dog friends and would absolutely thrive in a home with another well-mannered pup to show me the ropes. I’m fully house-trained, crate-trained (my crate is my cozy safe space!), and I’m learning how good it feels to play, chew toys, and stretch out on my bed like a true queen.

I’m not high-energy, but I’m not a couch potato either. I travel quietly, though I can be a little restless in the car. Chewing on my toys helps keep me preoccupied. I love a good slow-paced walk so I can admire all the things around me, and I enjoy playing with my foster siblings for about 30 minutes in the evening before going to chew on my toys! I love my Grandpa Bark toy where I can thrash a little but I also LOVE harder toys as well! I am leash-trained, but I can get distracted with my sniffing.

If you’ve got a quiet home, a warm heart, and maybe a friendly dog or two, I’d love to find safety and love with you. I’m El, and I’m not in a rush… but I’m hoping you’ll be the one worth waiting for.

**Apply to adopt Elora on our website: www.strongpawsrescue.org**
