Available for adoption: the very best of Very Good Dogs. Ellie Mae is a senior black Lab mix, 75# and 7-9 years old. Like a fine wine, she has just gotten better with age. Ellie is mellow and loves to relax, but has plenty of energy for adventures. Ellie is great with other dogs, loves cats, and loves humans of all ages. She is house-trained and does not need to be crated. Ellie loves going new places and going to work with her foster mom. She is a big fan of hiking and long walks, especially if there is leaves/snow/grass (really anything) to roll in!

Even better, Ellie will help you keep your counters clean, and your carb intake down! How? Well, years of scrounging for food have left her as a bit of a "food opportunist"... she's not above stealing the occasional snack and has a particular fondness for bread! White bread, none of that healthy wheat stuff.

We don't know much of Ellie's back story...she wandered out of the woods last year, absolutely emaciated and missing most of her hair. She was also heartworm positive. Ellie is now at a healthy weight and has been treated for heartworms; she is also up to date on vaccinations and has been spayed. She is still a little light in the hair department on her belly and a few other spots, but that just gives her even more character! She is currently taking Apoquel to help her hair loss and may even need to be on it for the rest of her life.
