Meet Ella

YAY!! I’m so happy I can’t stop wagging my tail!! Yippee! Why, do you ask? Because I am a lovely, 1 year old, 66 lb. Louisiana Labbie, named Ella, who is so full of life and energy, and so excited to find my furever home, now that I am a Lu’s Labs girl! Life was not always so sweet. I was found as a stray by a kindly farmer who earned my trust and shared his burritos with me. He showed me kindness and love and now I want to return the favor by showing love, love, and more LOVE to my new family! YIPPEE!!! Could that be you??

Like most pups my age, I have lots of Labbie energy so I would love plenty of exercise! I could get that exercise all sorts of ways! Want company on a long jog? I’m your pup! How about a nice visit to a dog park where I can play chase and bouncy ball with new friends? I’m in!! Looking for a pup to play fetch with in your fenced in yard? That’s me!! I am so adaptable that this Bayou belle could just as easily be a country gal or a city slicker, as long as I’m by your side, I will be happy! I love all other doggos (yay friends!! I’m wagging !!) and I love humans too! The best humans will be the ones I can call all mine! Uh, I am not certain how I feel about those furry felines, so best that I don’t go to a house with any!

I am crate trained, and will happily proceed there, especially if you coax me with a tasty treat. I like to sleep in my crate all night. It’s my own cozy little spot! I am perfectly housetrained too! I am working hard at learning some basic commands and some leash etiquette, but my Foster Mama says I am the smartest and sweetest girl, who adapts super easily and learns so quickly, so with a little patience, good training, and lots of love, I will be the goodest good girl evah!!!! YIPPEE!!!

One more thing, I’m learning what belongs to me, and what doesn’t. So, for the time being, I can’t be unsupervised because I will think your shoes are my toys, your books are my Kong, etc. But here’s the good news, I am excited for you to show me the way and to teach me! I am smart and I can’t wait to learn!! YIPPEE!!! I can’t wait to wiggle my way into your heart!

My name is Ella, I’m the sweetest girl, a regular Bayou belle,
Who wandered alone, till a farmer I met, and in love with me he fell,
“I’ll share my food and keep you safe, your life from now on will be fab!
But best of all my Ella dear, from now on you will be a Lu’s Lab!”
Disclaimer: Please know this is a recently rescued dog that is still transitioning into a new home environment. Training, and even personality and energy levels are constantly evolving as the dog starts to feel better emotionally and physically. Your new dog will take days or even weeks to fully settle into his or her true self. What you read in this bio is a snapshot of this dog’s evolving personality. Additionally, the age listed is an estimate provided by the shelter and/or veterinarian. Different vets can provide different age estimates. So always consider the lab you are adopting to be within an age range of a couple of years of what is listed. Also remember, while we are a lab rescue, we do not have papers on these dogs, we cannot confirm any breed specific claims, and many of these dogs may be mixed with other breeds.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING ONE OF OUR DOGS... please visit us at www.luslabs.org and fill out an adoption application. Once submitted, one of our Adoption Coordinators will be in touch!
