Ella's Story
Sweet Ella's story is a tough one. She came to us from a family that had purchased her, sight unseen, to be a family pet. What they didn't know was that Ella's whole life had been lived on the farm where she was born, likely living in a kennel with no socialization. She was born to breed. This was not a huge puppy mill, this was one of the families you see advertising puppies "raised on their farm with our family." It sounds all sunshine and roses...but you never get to actually meet the parents. Your puppy is brought out to you. You don't realize that the mother of your puppy lives in the shadows, never knowing what it is to be a loved companion.

This breeder decided not to breed Dalmatians any longer so she sold her breeding stock as pets...dogs who have NO idea how to live with people. So now we have our work cut out for us. Ella does not trust people, but she is learning. She lives in her foster home with other dogs (she LOVES other dogs and needs a companion dog) and she is gradually learning a routine and that humans are a good thing. We'll get there, but it's a long road.

But Ella deserves the good life! She had already had two litters of puppies by her second birthday and then she was cast aside. We're going to help her realize her life has value and that she can learn to be a loving family member. We're getting there. And when she's ready, we're looking for a family who can be patient with her transition and continue the work we have done.

Ella is our little diamond in the ruff. Check back for updates. She is so worthy of a wonderful life!

Eventual placement is preferred in the area of northeastern Oklahoma. Long distance placements may be considered with excellent references and an experienced home. Please complete our online application if interested.
