Meet Elizabeth - $400

Hi! My name is Elizabeth, but some call me Lizzie. I'm a sweet and loving 3 year old, 53lb lab mix looking for a place to call my forever home.
I spent most of my life as an outdoor dog in the South, so it's taking me a while to get used to the good life of a house pet. I'm a little bit skittish and nervous around sudden movements and loud or weird noises, but I get better and better every day.
I'm working on learning to go outside to do my business and to get in my kennel nicely. Like I said, I didn't live in a house before so all of this is pretty new to me. But I'm a smart girl and I know I can quickly learn if I'm guided gently and taught what to do. I'm already getting a lot better! I'm also not a huge barker and I love to destroy fluffy toys. I like to run around and play, but I also enjoy relaxing next to my person at night after I got some exercise.
I love walks! I walk nicely and pull very little, mostly just when something startles me. I think that'll get better as I get used to the hustle and bustle of the city and realize that I'm safe with my person by my side.
My foster parents believe that I will do best in a home that is relatively quiet, with not a lot of people coming in and out and with no small children since they can be a little unpredictable and that's a little scary for me. This might all get better in the future, but right now I need to ease into all of these new experiences. I like dogs that are nice and chill! Right now I live with a girl dog that's a couple years older than me and I like to follow her around and follow her lead. She makes me feel safe. My ideal home would have another dog that is confident, gentle, and laid back so I can learn from them.
I know that not everyone might be up for loving a dog that requires a little bit more patience and a gentle guiding hand, but if you open up your heart and your home to me, get ready... because I have soo much love and loyalty to give! You will become my whole world!

If you would like to be considered as a potential adopter for one of our great dogs, please go to our website- www.luckymuttsrescue.org and submit an application. Our application process includes landlord approval and vet checks. Please make sure all of your information is current and accurate, including a valid email address and phone numbers. Inaccuracies and/or incomplete data will delay and/or cancel your application. We strive to process all applications in a timely manner, but with the high volume of applications we are receiving, it is taking anywhere from 1-3 weeks. You may be contacted via email if there are concerns or questions. Once all of your information is reviewed and if your application is approved, you will be notified via email. Submitting an application and receiving an approval does not guarantee you will be adopting the dog you applied for. Once you move to the meet and greet process, you will be contacted by the foster family to further discuss the dog, and answer questions you may have, and if applicable, a meet and greet will be set up at our adoption center. Meet and greets are only set up with approved applicants, and we require all members in the household to be present, as well as any current dogs in the home.

Current Adoption Fees Are:
$400+tax for puppies to 3 years old
$350+tax for ages 4-7
$250+tax for ages 8 and up

The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, up to date age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, general deworming, heartworm test, (if over 6 months) and a certified veterinary inspection. Please be aware, listed dog breeds are based on information provided and cannot be guaranteed. Submitting an application for a particular dog does not guarantee that you will be the applicant chosen, we receive several applications for each dog. Our adopters are picked based on the needs of the dog, and the home we feel with best fit based on your responses to our application, vet information and landlord requirements. Approved applicants not chosen for the dog you applied for, will be in active status for a period of six months. We encourage you to watch Petfinder, Facebook and our website for upcoming dogs. Should you see a dog that interests you, please send us a Facebook message or an email with your approval number. Please be patient with us, as Lucky Mutts Rescue is run strictly by volunteers and many of us work full time jobs, have families and also foster dogs.
