Meet Eli
Meet Eli! A very handsome 3-year-old, 62 pound, Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix. Here is what one of our volunteer dog walkers has to say about him:
"I had the pleasure of being introduced to Eli & what a sweet boy this dog is. The first thing I noticed he is the perfect sized dog; not too big or small. He has a beautiful light brown coat with a dark snout and eyes. His coat is very smooth & well kept. He was smiling all the time and his tail wagged constantly.
He is very shy at first, but it certainly did not take long to warm up to me once I gained his trust. He approached slowly coming a bit closer each & every time until he knew I could be his buddy. I know he will open up even more as he is around more of the staff & volunteers.
Once the trust was established, he just loves to be hugged. In fact, he jumped on top of the platform in the play yard & sat with me. At one point, he placed his front paws on my shoulders, so he is just a love bug. As I walked around the play yard, he followed me to see what I was doing. You can tell he just wants to be with you and will become a member of the family in no time.
He has a great disposition and will make a great companion for that special family. I can tell Eli loves to play and has a lot of energy! I can see he is so eager to please and will be quite trainable. He will bond quickly to his new forever family.
I also believe he will be good with other dogs based on his reaction with other dogs walking by the play yard. He did not bark, and no hair was raised...
He was easy to leash, and he had no problem with me placing his collar on. He allowed me to touch his head & face area without any hesitations.
In conclusion, Eli has so many positive qualities and I do not see him being in the shelter for very long. If I did not have two German Shepherds of my own already, I would adopt him in a minute."
