Effie is a young retriever mix who rolled in from Mississippi ready to conquer the Midwest with her big personality, even bigger heart, and total lack of understanding about personal space. She’s sweet, sassy, and just the right amount of extra.

This girl is pure puppy energy with a side of diva. She LOVES to wrestle, zoom, and engage in tug-of-war battles like her life depends on it. She’s great with other dogs—especially the ones who can handle her dramatic flair. Got a dog who takes life too seriously? Effie will fix that.

She’s also mastered the art of sit, and she’s mostly house trained—just keep her on a schedule and she’s golden. Her crate? Not her favorite place (rude), but she’ll deal. She might grumble a little, but she eventually settles in like the resilient little queen she is.

Effie’s a total snuggle bug, especially at bedtime. She doesn’t just like to cuddle—she requires it. Bonus points if she can spoon you or rest her head dramatically on your shoulder like a toddler who’s had a long day.

This brave, bold girl is full of love, curiosity, and just a hint of chaos. She’s got a strong personality and would thrive in a home with another fun-loving pup who can keep up with her antics and redirect her drama when needed.

Effie’s doing great on leash (unless she randomly stops and turns into a statue—classic Effie move), and she’ll occasionally try to taste-test the leash mid-walk, just to keep things interesting.

Effie is playful, snuggly, smart, and endlessly entertaining. She’s still mastering a few things—like potty training and not using her mouth as a communication tool—but she’s eager to please and learning fast.
