Meet Edgar

Welcome sweet Edgar to the Journey Home family! Edgar was surrendered to a South Texas shelter. We saw that face and had to bring him to Missouri. He was covered in fleas, had a great deal of hair loss and skin sores, and is pretty thin. He got to go straight to a foster home where is quickly became evident that Edgar is visually impaired. The vet says he was probably born this way as there is no sign of damage to his eyes. He does not let his impairment slow him down. He learned the foster home layout quickly. He is far sighted outside in bright light. Edgar loves to stay close to his person, and listens for voices to keep track. He is growing fur quickly and gaining some weight. He is gentle and sweet to everyone he meets, including young children. He's spent time with dogs of all sizes and activity levels, and he loves to play. He enjoys walks and does very well on a leash. Since he listens for his person, he is also good off leash for exploring. He will lie right down at your feet and sleep, and he loves cozy beds. It seems Edgar hasn't had much experience with toys, but he's working on learning. Edgar gets attached to the people he lives with and would thrive best in a home where someone is home most of the day.
