Éclair is a tiny, delicate Coton de Tulear who came to safety from the unimaginably inhumane conditions of a puppy mill where she spent the entire seven or so years of her life in captivity as a breeder. Despite that, she is a sweet, patient, and friendly little girl who wants nothing more than to love and be loved. She absolutely adores people and gets very excited whenever company comes, acting as if she’s greeting long-lost friends. She is gentle and timid though, so larger, boisterous dogs intimidate her, and she will withdraw or go into submission if she feels threatened. For that reason, she would do best with small canine companions or calm, older dogs. She would also do well as a solo dog. We know she’s fine with cats as she lived with cats for weeks and was completely indifferent to them.
After having one final litter this year, Éclair had a host of small medical issues completely taken care of eg; ear infection, and is now spayed and in very good health. And although she has had to have several teeth extracted, that hasn’t interfered in the least with her love of a good meal or snack! Housebreaking is a work in progress, but she’s very good at going into her crate and is learning to walk nicely on a leash.
With her docile disposition and weighing in at around sixteen pounds, Éclair is the ideal companion for someone who is NOT looking for a high-energy hiking buddy, but who would like to be able to pick her up for a cuddle. Think of her as something akin to a portable angel.

We are in Rochester, NY, we adopt to people who live in the Rochester area. We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. Additionally, if fencing is required it must be a physical fence and in place at time of home visit.

All our dogs have been treated for worms; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 mths or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchip; and examined by veterinarian and given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed.
