Meet Echo
Echo is a stunning, intelligent, and deeply sensitive Heeler mix who is looking for her second chance at a life filled with patience, safety, and love. She’s been through more than her fair share, and while the world has not always been kind to her, Echo’s spirit remains unbroken. With every gentle glance and tentative tail wag, she’s showing us just how ready she is to connect—on her terms.
Right now, Echo is decompressing in a dedicated foster home, learning that soft voices and steady routines can be trusted. She’s not a beginner dog—far from it. Echo will absolutely require someone with experience in dog behavior, especially with herding breeds or nervous/reactive dogs. She needs a person who can not only read her signals but respect them.
What Echo Needs in a Home:
No Cats (or very slow, experienced intro with cats): Echo has a high prey drive and is very reactive to cats, even at a distance. A cat-free home is ideal, though in the right hands, very slow introductions may be possible over time.
Calm, Low-Traffic Home: Echo thrives in quieter environments. She prefers her own safe space and currently finds comfort in her crate, where she sleeps peacefully through the night. A home without lots of visitors or chaos will be best for her long-term success.
Slow-Going with Male Humans: Echo can be wary around men, especially if they move too quickly or unpredictably. She is worrisome of fast movements —but she will also approach men calmly and willingly when she feels secure. Time, patience, and understanding will go a long way here.
Progress So Far:
Echo is currently working on calmly exiting her crate, especially when other animals are nearby. She's learning that food, love, and affection are safe to accept, and she genuinely enjoys peaceful time outside in the yard. Her foster mom says she’s starting to show little glimpses of the dog she could become in the right environment: loyal, loving, and incredibly rewarding to bond with.
Echo at a Glance:
Breed: Heeler (likely mix)
Age: Almost 2 years
Sex: Female
Good with Cats: Not preferred; may be possible with very slow, professional introduction
Energy Level: Moderate

Echo is not for everyone—but for the right person, she will be unforgettable. She needs structure, patience, and someone who will let her move at her own pace. But once she learns she’s truly safe, she will offer you something incredibly rare: the trust of a dog who had every reason not to trust, and chose love anyway.
