Meet Echo
We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision-making process, please make sure you have spoken with them, and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog.
Meet the Superhero Litter!
Echo, 9 weeks (estimated DOB May 2024), female, Carolina Dog/Retriever mix, estimated to be a medium/large size when full grown. She is in a foster home in HOUSTON, TEXAS and is able to transport out of State once an adopter is approved.
This litter was rescued from a shelter in Houston when they were at risk of euthanasia. The puppies are now old enough to start finding homes of their own. We included a picture of Mom, Sally, for reference (she is 56 pounds).
Echo is described as the sweet and shy, very submissive to her siblings and other dogs. She listens well and is already getting the hang of house training compared to her siblings.
She is not fully housebroken yet though. She has spent some time crated, but generally spends time in a pen with her siblings. We are looking for a home who understands this comes with the territory of raising a young puppy.
She has not been around cats but is being fostered with kids ages 5-15 years old. We always recommend a home with kids who respect and understand animal boundaries. For younger kids, we expect parents who will supervise and help teach appropriate animal manners.
Echo is looking for a home who has an understanding of raising puppies into adulthood. This can be prior experience or someone who will seek support as needed (training, friends/family). Puppies bring so much joy, but also need intentional and committed attention. They need help socializing with new people, other dogs, leash work and basic obedience.
Puppies under 6 months of age are placed on a spay/neuter contract until they are old enough to be altered.
For puppies this age, someone needs to be home more than they are away as crating them for long periods of time is not conducive for their developmental needs. If you work outside of the home longer than 4 hours, please explain who will is available to spend time with this puppy while you are aware. If that information is not included, we will not consider your application.
***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ***
