Meet Durango

Please read the dog's entire bio before you apply. Sadly, we are no longer able to respond to every application, but will contact the one that is a good match within 5 days.
Durango is a male terrier mix, we guess australian terrier mix but he does have a rough terrier coat, not like a yorkie. He is 6 yrs and 9.5 lbs with a short cute tail that wags nonstop. Durango is active, determined, good on the leash and very treat motivated, very much a little confident terrier who will need a home willing to provide exercise and stability.
Durango is a smiley little guy who loves to play! He loves his toys, and will always bring them over to you to play with him. He will put the toy in your hand so you can play tug with him, and whenever he gets the toy away from you he will put it right back in your hand again! And if you manage to get it from him, he’s waiting for you to throw it and fetch it. When he’s not playing, he just wants to cuddle with you and give you kisses. He will lay right next to you with his head on your lap for as long as you will let him. He is good on a leash, with his potty training, and likes to be held. He is very treat motivated, and should pick up any new training fairly quickly. Durango is friendly and loves meeting new people and dogs outside the home (unsure about cats and kids). In the home he is protective of his person and will need an owner experienced with stuborn little terriers and no children. He would love to be an only dog and a little shadow to his person, he bonds quickly and strongly.
Most of our dogs are not available to an out of the area adoption because of difficulty to follow up. If you do not live within a 2 hr drive of Orange County, please email us before applying to see if the dog you are interested is may be a candidate for long distance adoption. We only make consider long distance adoptions for dogs who have been in our rescue for 6 plus months with no local candidates. If you are interested in adopting one of our rescues, please visit our main website for adoption procedures at www.pupsandpals.net and then fill out our application. Please note that we are all volunteers so it may take up to 3 days to process your application, but you will hear back from us if your application is a good match for the pet. We do not have a shelter so individual appointments must be made to meet the pet you are interested in. Our pets are fostered/boarded all over LA and Orange County. This pet is altered, vaccinated, microchipped, and has had a brief temperament evaluation to help us determine what type of a home he/she would thrive in. Please note that we put lots of time and effort to make sure our pets are ready to be someone's perfect pet before they go home.... and to make sure that we will have the best possible match for this pet we do require an : application, interview, adoption fee and in some case a home check.
Listed for adoption: 7/29/21
Adoption fee: $300
PLEASE DO NOT call or email to see if a pet is available. We update our pages daily so if he/she is pictured here in the available dogs section, we are accepting applications at this time.
