Meet Duncan
Hi friends … I’m Duncan. I entered a rural Georgia shelter with 3 of my littermates (Diego, Daria, and Diesel). After spending a week at the vet to insure we were out of the shelter and “safe”, Project Freedom Ride scooped us all up and placed us into 2 foster homes. I am fostered with my sister, Daria, and our siblings Diesel and Diego are fostered together in another home.
Allow me to introduce myself …
* You’ve got my name by now – Duncan
* Best guess at my breed is Dachshund Mix … mixed with what? Your guess is as good as mine. Maybe if you adopt me, we can do one of those fun DNA tests and find out!
* I am about 3 months old
* And roughly 12lbs
* When it comes to my personality … I LOVE LIFE. My moto is “small by mighty”. I am definitely the runt of my litter but think I’m the biggest, baddest boy around. I am currently fostered with 8 resident dogs and my sister Daria. We have a BLAST!! I love toys, chase, and hold nothing back when it comes to some serious “ruff” housing & wrestling. I’m a play hard sleep hard kind of pup.
* I am a puppy, therefore, I am still a work in progress. I am still working on crate training, but I’ve pretty much mastered the art of not poo’ing in the crate. That said I am very lucky as my foster mom works from home so we get out for very frequent breaks.
* I do sleep through the night from about 10pm-6am. I might have a pee accident overnight in my crate but nothing major. Oh and by the way I have been caught snoring!
* About my nose. I entered the shelter with Puppy Strangles. It is an autoimmune disorder so with the help of our amazing vet, some prednisone, and antibiotics I am on the mend. It may leave a little scarring, but it is really too soon to tell. I look and feel a million times better already thanks to my foster family and the doc. This will not be something that follows me for the rest of my life. You can read more about it here: https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/juvenile-cellulitis-puppy-strangles
