Meet Duke PUPDATE

PUPDATE:
Duke is a very friendly loveable dog once he gets to know you as a friend. He does have an intimating bark that can scare some people off but he is a sweetheart of a dog. If someone came and visited him even once a week and gave him treats and let him know you are not going to hurt him, he will be your best friend. During the day you will find him under the tree lounging around on his bed, looking so regal. He sometimes has 1-5 friends in the yard to play with. Ranging from ages 3 months to 13 years. Males and females. If introduced properly, he does great with other dogs. He is a dream to walk on a leash and loves to go for walks. He really would like to get out of here and find himself a furever loving home. Stop by and say hi to him, bring a treat. He will thank you for it.

Dobby, now Duke was adopted in 2019 but sadly was returned through no fault of his own. It was a divorce situation and the previous owners told us much about him. We cant say positively what his breed mixture is, but paperwork says he is a Great Dane/Doberman Pinscher mix. He will bark protectively at strangers when he is in the play yard, and he doesn't like cats or children. He is fearful of children and their erratic movements. When we originally met him, he was very sweet and gentle, so we have no idea why he now can be fearful of strangers. Staff love this boy and if you think youv'e got a home where you don't have a lot of people coming and going, and don't mind a dog who is protective of his property with strangers, he is such a lovely dog!

Dobby came to us as a transfer from an overcrowded Texas shelter.

Dobby's adoption fee is $200 and includes neuter, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, and custom engraved ID tag.
