I'm Duke, a just-over-50-pound bundle of playful, people-loving energy here at Tails Humane Society in DeKalb, IL. I had to spend several weeks on crate rest after surgery (rough for a young guy!), so now I'm EXTRA ready to play and explore. I'm smart and eager to please - I know sit and down, I'm house-trained, crate-trained, and sleep great at night. I've spent time with children and did really well! I'm medium energy overall, but I can get excited and would love an active family. I'm not perfect on leash yet ??, and I may try to chase critters, or even cars. But I learn fast, especially if you have yummy treats. I enjoy other playful dogs, though I can get a little too enthusiastic sometimes. And I can't have stuffed or rope toys due to my previous surgery. I'm a sweet, goofy boy who loves people and just wants to join a fun family who will help me keep learning and let me be part of the action. Come meet me!
