Meet Duke
Meet Duke, a purebred German Shorthaired Pointer who has just turned 1 year old. Duke and his littermate Duchess were surrendered by their elderly owner to rescue.
Duke came into rescue very underweight. He has since gained 4lbs, and we hope he continues to build on that and get back to a healthy weight for his age. Duke has been neutered, brought up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, heartworm tested, and microchipped.
His foster mom says that Duke is very sweet, but he is shy. He is working on being more confident every day. He loves the children he has met so far and is very sweet with them. He does well with other dogs. He has a goofy spunky boy personality that is starting to show through as he works on gaining weight.
We will post more about Duke as we get to know him. We do know he will need a home without cats. His adoption fee is $300. He is fostered in the St. Louis area.
