Meet Dudley

Meet Dudley, an approximately 20 lb. male, terrier/poodle mix who was born approximately 2 years ago, and became a Misfit when he was hit by a car and taken to a local shelter. MM took him into our program in mid December 2020. He had extensive damage to his neck and head, and some very meticulous surgery saved his life. He also had several cracked ribs! This pet is neutered, up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, heart-worm negative, and micro-chipped!

He is totally healed and has no special needs now!

He is 80% house trained, his foster home has several older dogs who are incontinent and its hard to keep Dudley from wanting to mark, but this will get better. He is crate trained, will go into it willingly at night for a treat! He is pretty good on a leash unless going somewhere he has never been, but hey, aren't we all that way too, just a little?! He will ride quietly in the car in or out of a crate.

There are multiple sizes and ages of dogs and cats in Dudley’s foster home, and he loves them all. His “man-crush” is on the golden retriever. He follows him around and “guards” him from the other dogs! He can be possessive of his toys and food, probably because he’s never had either in abundance before! He tries to play with the young cat, and pretty much leaves the older ones alone.
His schedule is basically go outside first thing out of the crate in the AM, have breakfast, outside again, then depending on the weather or activities goof around the house or yard. Supper is at @ 6 PM, outside again, then for the last time @ 9 at night. He sleeps through the night quietly.

He had to be kept calm and mostly crated for the first few weeks, but as he has healed and been allowed outside, his youthful personality is really shining through! In the morning after breakfast, when outside, he gets the “zoomies," where he charges around the yard at top speed with a little rat terrier, kind of playing chase. He is learning to be affectionate, and will sit forever while you scratch his curls on the top of his head. He is just such a cute, friendly little guy, he needs a home with somebody to play with and treat him like the special fella he is!

Has only interacted (to our knowledge) with a couple of children, but should be just fine with anyone. He really loves people!
