Meet Ducky

Meet Ducky! A 6-year-old, 7 ½ pound Chihuahua who is the perfect mix of play and cuddles. Just like his 'Land Before Time' namesake, Ducky is courageous, bubbly, and ready to explore. He loves playing fetch with his dinosaur friends and enjoys burrowing under blankets when it's time to relax.

Ducky currently lives with other Chihuahuas and has met several dogs his size. He takes cues well most of the time and is a-okay coexisting but doesn't necessarily play with canine friends. He would love to meet resident dogs to ensure it's a good match before adoption, will need slow introductions, and separation when eating. Ducky would also be fine being the one and only!

As far as cats, Ducky may be okay with slow introductions to a playful, patient feline but he doesn't understand cat language for "go away".

He'd love some help with leash pulling as well as learning that strangers are okay (particularly men). He needs someone who will advocate for him! Although Ducky isn’t a big fan of strange men, he adores his foster dad.

Additionally, Ducky loves to play with his mouth and has been learning what is acceptable. When he gets overly excited, he tends to mouth harder although this has improved greatly. Due to this, Ducky would be best in a home with no kids or dog-savvy kids over the age of 14.

Ducky is potty trained but will mark smells in a new place so a belly band (which will be provided) is recommended until he settles in. He is crate trained and will often go in his open crate during the day to relax. Although he is not overly vocal, Ducky will bark if he hears strange noises coming from outside so an apartment is not a good fit for him. He doesn't need a fenced-in yard as long as he is leashed and with his humans when outside.

Ducky is the best boy. He loves his humans and his favorite place to be is snuggled on a lap. Be prepared to fall hopelessly in love!

**Ducky's adoption fee will be reduced to $236 if his adopter commits to training classes with a Pet Haven recommended trainer.

His adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, & Bordetella), HW and flea/tick preventative, and microchip implant and registration.

There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best guess.

Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.

Due to post-adoption services provided, it is Pet Haven's policy to only place dogs into homes within a 75-mile radius of the Minneapolis, MN city center.
