Duck's Story

Born Ready for Pets

Ducky is a 3-month-old Chow mix with beautiful blue-toned coloring and the steady happiness of a dog who woke up assuming today would go well. Ducky has the kind of personality that makes you feel like you’ve already met him before — open, friendly, and completely certain you’re about to pet him.

While some puppies hang back to watch the room, Ducky walks straight into it looking for love. He comes right up for pets, leans in without hesitation, and settles like he’s known you longer than he actually has. Affection isn’t a special occasion for Ducky — it’s just part of the day.

Among his siblings, Ducky carries a little natural leader energy. He’s often right in the middle of whatever’s happening and happy to get a game started, though his sisters make sure he remembers he’s not fully in charge. He’s playful, affectionate, and genuinely joyful in a way that feels easy and natural.

Ducky grew up surrounded by other dogs and does beautifully with canine companionship. He’s confident across different play styles and reads other dogs naturally. Because of that, we would love to see him in a home with another friendly dog sibling — he really thrives with a buddy nearby.

Like any young puppy, Ducky will need structure and guidance as he grows, but he already shows the kind of confidence and social ease that make him such a pleasure to be around. He settles into people’s lives quickly, like he’s been planning the move for a while.

Sweet, confident, and eager for connection, Ducky is the kind of dog who walks right into your life and makes himself at home.

See more videos of Ducky here:
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL80kWIlZCtlQu8gX0G_WaiNVn4aDAiTPe

+++++++

ADOPTION APPLICATION:
https://petsave.formstack.com/forms/petsave_adoption_application

+++++++

Duck is currently being fostered in Texas and will be transported to his forever home by our rescue. We have transports departing each week.

+++++++

The Truth About Rescue:

Every rescue pup is a work in progress — and that’s the beauty of it. None of them come wrapped in a bow, ready-made or mistake-free. They come with stories, quirks, and hearts that have seen a lot but still choose to trust again.

Adoption isn’t about perfection; it’s about presence. Showing up for them, every day, until they know they’re finally home. That’s when you’ll see them bloom — confident, connected, and deeply loved. And somewhere along the way, you’ll realize they were never the only one being rescued.

+++++++

Once we have received your application, we will review it and reach out to set up an interview with one of our volunteers. If you have additional questions, please email us at SaintMuttsInquiries@gmail.com

Note: As with all of our rescues, we recommend homes with children 10 years and over to ensure the best fit for both the pets and families involved.

Check out all of our adoptable pups and learn more about our rescue on our website: www.stmuttsrescue.com
