Meet Duchess

Duchess has been FOPAS for one year as of April 1st, and volunteers cannot understand why this loving gorgeous girl has not found her forever home! ! Duchess is a beautiful female large mixed breed dog. Her estimated DOB is 4/2017 and her weight is about 70 pounds - 70 pounds of muscle. Duchess likes both male and female dogs. She occasionally goes on weekend visits with one of the FOPAS volunteers and gets along with all of her dogs: male, female, large, small, old and young. In fact, her BFF there is a young Beagle. If there is only one dog sibling in the house that dog needs to be active and, if smaller, not mind being bowled over once in a while while playing. A smaller child will be overwhelmed by her. Duchess has good house manners. Duchess is wary of strangers and does bark, but once someone shows her that they are friendly she is fine with everyone and she loves to hug. She is clearly a young young girl who has had little human affection before coming to FOPAS and she truly seems to long for human contact and love. Her new pack leader needs to be an experienced dog owner who knows how to deal with a strong canine personality, strong but one who loves her people and loves to play. Duchess is very athletic so if someone wants a running companion who can keep up, she fits the bill. Duchess is housebroken.

The lovely Duchess is part of the #getmehome2018 challenge since she's been at the shelter over 30 days. If you adopt this beautiful little girl, her portrait goes home with you as well.
