This handsome guy is looking for his forever best friend. Dougie came to us a stray from Texas so we don't know much about his past. We guess him to be 3-5 years old. He is a lab mix weighing about 75 pounds. Dougie is very loyal and loving to his friends. He bonds fast and hard but doesn't do well with strangers. He is a goofy lap dog. If you don't like doggy kisses, he is not for you.

Dougie came to us heartworm positive. He has been through the lengthy treatment process and is now ready for adoption when we find the right fit for him. He will do best with a single person, preferably female, that doesn't have a lot of visitors. He is very protective and warms to women much more quickly than men. He also needs to be the only pet. We will require a fully fenced yard with direct access from the home. Experience with large breed dogs is also a must.

We understand this might sound overwhelming but please trust me, Dougie is so loving and sweet to his person. He love to snuggle on the couch but be warned, he will be on top of you. He just wants to be as close as possible. He also loves to take walks and is great on a leash.
