Meet Doug! A 5mo silly sweetheart who cannot wait to find his forever home.

Doug would love to be your adventure companion! He loves journeying the outdoors with his humans whether a camping trip on the North Shore or a trail hike in the Twin Cities.

Doug has had the opportunity to live with another dog and likes to play; however, due to Alpha tendencies and resource guarding, he should be the only dog in the house. He has also gotten to live with cats and due to his desire to chase and not respond to the cats’ signs of not wanting to engage, we are recommending a home without cats.

Doug will need an experienced dog owner that is ready and able to work on training with him. Doug guards his food when fed in a bowl and needs patience and training to help him overcome this. Doug is also in the beginning stages of puppy teething so guidance with that as well is needed. Also, because Doug has some things to learn and overcome, we are recommending he go to a home with older children (12yrs and up), if any.

Doug loves going for walks, napping in the sunshine, playtime in the yard, and chasing his own tail. He is working on being fully potty trained, and when kept on a regular schedule does great! He is also okay to spend time in his crate when his humans are out of the house.

Playful Doug is looking for an active and loving home willing to dedicate the time and patience to train and help him grow into his best self!



His adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, & Bordetella), HW and flea/tick preventative, and microchip implant and registration.

There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best guess.

Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.

Due to post-adoption services provided, it is Pet Haven's policy to only place dogs into homes within a 75-mile radius of the Minneapolis, MN city center.
