Dottie

Dottie is a roughly 4 year old miniature poodle who weighs around 11 pounds. She is a Velcro dog who tends to attach to one person very strongly, but she is social with all. She does not want the person she attaches to out of her sight for very long, and due to that she will need an adopter that is home with her most of the time, or able to bring her wherever they go. <br/><br/>She is dog social, and would do great living with another well-mannered dog, but a single dog home would also be completely fine for her as her person is her main concern. Dottie is currently living with 2 cats and she occasionally wants to play with them, but ignores them for the most part. She is not a stroller dog (we tried!), and she does enjoy her walks around the block. Are you an active retiree looking for a sidekick? Maybe someone who works from home? We’ve got you covered. <br/>She will require prescription eye drops (roughly $80 a bottle) for the rest of her life, as she was diagnosed with Dry eye (Keratoconjunctivitis sicca). She has suffered some vision loss due to being neglected prior to coming to us, but it is barely noticeable now and she functions just like any normal, happy dog. Hopefully, with regular eye care, it will not progress any further.<br/><br/>Dottie is your typical poodle…she is very smart, loves her toys, loves to snuggle and is a total lap dog. She is great in the home, housebroken on a regular schedule and will alert you to any unusual happenings outside ? Due to her vision, she can be startled by quick movements so older, considerate kids around her would be best.
