Hi there, I’m Dottie (but you can call me Gizzmo, Dottie Girl, Love
Bug, or even Gremlin)! I’m a sweet and sassy 7-month-old puppy, ready
to find my forever family. My foster humans say I’m the perfect blend
of playful and cuddly. Whether you’re into yard games, hiking, lake
adventures, or snuggling on the couch, I’m your girl!
Oh, and did I mention I’m working hard on my people skills too?
Meeting new humans can feel a little intimidating, especially if
they’re loud or have big, boisterous energy. I’m especially cautious
around men, but my foster humans are helping me learn that most folks
are friendly and safe! Every day, I tag along to pick up my foster
parent from work at a grocery co-op, where I get to meet a bunch of
new people. It’s helping me get more comfortable around all kinds of
folks and, who knows, maybe even meet my future family!
I absolutely adore being close to my humans and am learning all about
doggie manners from my foster brother. I love him so much, but I’m
still working on sharing high-value treats and chew toys—it’s tough to
let go of the good stuff! I can also be a little nervous when meeting
new dogs, so I’ll need slow introductions to feel comfortable. But
with a bit of patience, I warm up and could be a great friend for the
right doggie sibling.
Some of my favorite things? Snifaris (I could walk the neighborhood
all day, I love it so much!), yard time, chewing on antlers, playing
with all the toys (thanks to my foster bro), and curling up for naps
after a day of fun. I’m pretty smart too! In my short time so far with
my foster family, I’ve learned “sit,” “down,” “touch,” and “leave it”
and I even ring the potty bell when I need to go outside—and I’d love
to keep learning, especially if treats are involved!
Oh, and guess what—I’ve met two kiddos recently (ages 7 and 10), and I
adored playing and snuggling with them! We got along so well, and I
think I’d be a great fit for a family with kids. As for cats…well, I’m
not too sure. I tend to chase small animals in the yard and try to
chase cats I see on walks, so it’s hard to say if I’d do well with a
resident cat. But I’m open to trying!
So, if you’re looking for a loving, playful, and loyal companion, I
might just be the perfect gal for you!
