Meet Dottie
Dottie was found in Grand Prairie laying in a hole she had dug. No collar, no chip, and underweight. Was brought in by Cody's. She was born in January or February 2018, weighs 31 pounds and is fully vetted.
Initially Dottie was very scared and sudden movements or noises disturbed her. She allowed us to hold her and pet her, but was skittish. She is housebroken now after a couple of accidents in the house. She is crate trained now and prefers to sleep in her crate. During the day, she likes to stay on a doggie bed. She is learning to walk on a lead, and will chase after a ball but hasn't figured out the bring it back part yet. Dottie would do well with other dogs and probably best with a bit older dog who would show her the ropes. Dottie ignores or doesn't seem to be bothered with our three kitties.
Dottie is a very low key dog, gentle, quiet, unemotional and prefers a quiet and
laid-back atmosphere. She's a sweetheart and love bug who appreciates pets, rubs, and kisses, but doesn't beg for them. We have yet to hear her bark! She is peaceful, like her naps, and does great sleeping in the crate all night. She likes laying on her baby (stuffed toy), does not chew, but has just recently figured out she has a chew toy stick that she likes. She likes car rides and proved to be a great traveler on her recent trip to Arkansas. She has come around quite a bit in the last two plus weeks and I know she will continue to thrive and develop her sweet personality when she finds her forever home.
Dottie would do well in a calm home with maybe one other mature dog calm dogs, or no dogs. Cats should be fine. She would do good with older children but very young children might make her nervous. She will enjoy someone that will play with her but also likes to spend time being a couch potato. Overall she is super easy and with a bit more time and training will make a loving and devoted pet.
