Meet Donna - $400

My name is Donna. I’m estimated about 6-8 months old, weigh about 25 lbs, and am spayed. My rescuers think I am a catahoula mix. Whatever my genes say, my nose is to the ground a lot when I’m outside and I’m completely intrigued by the new smells!

I am a sweet energetic southern hospitality kind of girl. I love toys, marrow bones, and knuckle bones. I do a great job sharing toys, food, and water with the dogs I live with. I love running in my fenced yard, I’m fast, and it’s a lot of fun. I love my people so much that I want to give as many hugs as I can. We are working on “off” with four on the floor because I love
my people so much I get excited and jump to say I love you and am so happy to be together. I bark when someone comes to the door or walks past the yard to let my people know someone is there. Otherwise, I’m not very vocal. I love to cuddle when I’m sleepy. I do pretty well for my age on a leash. We take short walks. I don’t pull but I do zig zag and circle around to make sure I’m not missing any smells. I am quickly learning to take only doggy toys and leave what’s not ours alone. I’m getting really good at “drop it” when I do pick up something interesting that is not for puppies. I listen well when I am called to “come”. I know when my family says “stay” I am not supposed to walk out the door or gate with them. I stay in my crate quietly while my family is away. I sleep with my foster kids quietly through the night. I have made really good progress going potty outside. I go every time I go outside on a schedule but I have not yet learned to give signs when I need to go out. I have not lived with cats but i live with bunnies and guinea pigs and don’t go by their cages or bother them.

I would like a family who will exercise me. Even at my young age, I like to be active. We play in the yard before work, on lunch, and after work & school. We take short walks up the block to practice being on the leash once a day. I nap in the morning, afternoon, and evening after our play.

Last thing and then I’ll stop writing about myself -check out my eyes. They are the coolest my foster mom has ever seen. My right eye is half blue and half brown. My left eye is a third blue and two thirds brown. Nothing short of adorable going on here!

If you would like to be considered as a potential adopter for one of our great dogs, please go to our website- www.luckymuttsrescue.org and submit an application. Our application process includes landlord approval and vet checks. Please make sure all of your information is current and accurate, including a valid email address and phone numbers. Inaccuracies and/or incomplete data will delay and/or cancel your application. We strive to process all applications in a timely manner, but with the high volume of applications we are receiving, it is taking anywhere from 1-3 weeks. You may be contacted via email if there are concerns or questions. Once all of your information is reviewed and if your application is approved, you will be notified via email. Submitting an application and receiving an approval does not guarantee you will be adopting the dog you applied for. Once you move to the meet and greet process, you will be contacted by the foster family to further discuss the dog, and answer questions you may have, and if applicable, a meet and greet will be set up at our adoption center. Meet and greets are only set up with approved applicants, and we require all members in the household to be present, as well as any current dogs in the home.

Current Adoption Fees Are:
$400+tax for puppies to 3 years old
$350+tax for ages 4-7
$250+tax for ages 8 and up
Bonded pairs vary

The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, up to date age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, general deworming, heartworm test, (if over 6 months) and a certified veterinary inspection. Please be aware, listed dog breeds are based on information provided and cannot be guaranteed. Submitting an application for a particular dog does not guarantee that you will be the applicant chosen, we receive several applications for each dog. Our adopters are picked based on the needs of the dog, and the home we feel with best fit based on your responses to our application, vet information and landlord requirements. Approved applicants not chosen for the dog you applied for, will be in active status for a period of six months. We encourage you to watch Petfinder, Facebook and our website for upcoming dogs. Should you see a dog that interests you, please send us a Facebook message or an email with your approval number. Please be patient with us, as Lucky Mutts Rescue is run strictly by volunteers and many of us work full time jobs, have families and also foster dogs.
