Donkey Kong's Story

Say hello to Donkey Kong! He came to TCHS as a transfer from another facility. Donkey Kong the weekend at a foster's house and was said to be a very loving boy! He loved to run and play with the kids in the yard all day. He wasn't very fond of car rides or stairs but loved to have some playmates. He was also said to be very good with his manners and playing with the children. He would sleep in a kennel at night and did well with that too!

Donkey Kong has been around younger children and has done well with them. He has also spent time around other medium breed dogs and has done well. He was around chickens and was interested but did not chase them. Slow and proper introductions to resident pets and children are always recommended when bringing a new animal into the home. Ask a TCHS staff for tips on how to ease the transition.

Donkey Kong would love to have durable toys to chew on and keep him entertained. Patient and consistent training using treats is a good way to work on obedience cues. Ask a TCHS staff about training and suggestions for the perfect toy for your new friend from the TCHS Re-Tail Shoppe.

*Adoption holds may be placed on available animals in person or by calling 320-252-0896. An adoption hold reserves available animals for one day after the animal is ready to be adopted. More than one adoption hold may be placed on an available animal and will be honored in the order they were received. Adoption holds are $25 plus tax, are non-refundable, non-transferable and not applied toward the adoption fee.

**Minnesota sales tax and an administrative fee ($20 for cats/dogs and $10 for small animals) will be applied to all adoptions. Donations and adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter surgeries, microchipping, vaccinating, deworming, any medical procedures, and general care of all shelter animals.
