DOM - Paws Behind Bars Trained Saint Bernard La Grange, KY

DOM is a one year old, male St. Bernard. He is currently enrolled in our PAWS BEHIND BARS prison dog training program where he's doing beautifully. DOM came to us with a troubled past. Really nothing more than an extra large breed dog that learned to throw his weigh around without discipline. He had been in and out of multiple homes and rescues when we decided to see what a little obedience would do. Dom's inmate has taken it very slowly. He let Dom settle, then he started with the basics. Dom's obedience training came along nicely, it was his social skills that needed the work. Now, 2 months later, in controlled situations, Dom is playing well with most of the dogs. He is now ready to go home! The home we're seeking must have a fenced in yard. He's still a puppy but when he decides to run, he needs room! Leash walking and dogs parks wont work here. Teenage children are fine, but no small children. Another dog in the family is fine as long as its not a dominant male. Finally, an owner who will keep up with the discipline of obedience training. Dom knows his manners but if he's given any wiggle room, he'll go backwards. We are a foster based rescue and with an approved application, we'll be happy to set up a meet and greet by appointment.
