Dolly's Story

Dolly’s story is nothing short of miraculous. This sweet, medium-sized girl was already in the process of being euthanized at the shelter when we got the call.
We rushed to her side and brought her straight to an emergency vet, where they worked quickly to reverse the effects of the drugs she had been given. Against the odds, Dolly made it — and she hasn’t stopped shining since.

Now safe and thriving in a loving foster home in Encinitas, Dolly is making the most of her second chance. She’s a happy, affectionate, and incredibly gentle young dog who adores being around people and other dogs. She’s the kind of companion who will quietly nudge your hand for more pets or curl up beside you just to be close. She’s currently living with two children (ages 9 and 12), and she either sweetly asks them for affection or gives them space — always calm and respectful.

Dolly can be a bit timid and reserved when meeting new people, but with just a little patience and kindness, her sweet personality begins to shine. Once she warms up, she becomes a loving and loyal friend. She walks beautifully on leash and loves getting out for strolls, always taking in the world with soft curiosity.
She does wonderfully with other dogs, especially those who are gentle and not overly dominant. With proper introductions, she would do well in a home with other pups and children alike.

Dolly is looking for a forever home where she can continue to feel safe, grow her confidence, and share the quiet love that fills her heart. If you’re ready to give her the gentle, steady companionship she deserves, she’s ready to give you her whole heart in return.
