Dolly is a stunning 5-year-old spayed female Staffordshire mix weighing in at a solid and snuggly 69 pounds. She’s currently in a loving foster home in HOUSTON, TEXAS , and is available for out-of-state transport to an approved adopter!

This sweet and gentle soul has had quite the journey. Dolly was originally adopted as a puppy from a county shelter, but sadly, she was found as a stray four years later. We’re not sure how anyone could let her go—because Dolly is truly a gem—and we can’t wait to see her settled in the forever home she deserves.

Dolly is as friendly as they come! She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and absolutely adores kids. She currently shares her foster home with a dog her size and two young children (ages 6 and 8), and she fits in beautifully. She’s also a social butterfly when meeting new people. The only exception? Cats. Dolly would do best in a feline-free home.

One of Dolly’s standout qualities is her gentle nature. She’s incredibly patient with kids of all ages (4 to 10), and her human foster siblings can lay with her, pet her all over, and give her lots of snuggles. At the bus stop, she stands still like a little celebrity, letting all the neighborhood kids say hi and give her love. When the kiddos start rolling around and playing, Dolly wants to join in the fun—but keep in mind she’s a bigger gal, so a home with toddlers or very small children may not be the best fit.

Dolly is a happy, affectionate girl whose tail is always wagging. She lives for belly rubs and loves flopping onto her back like a silly turtle. Blankets and soft dog beds are her favorite, and she sleeps soundly through the night. If you let her, she’ll climb right into your lap or snuggle up next to you on the couch for movie time.

She’s low-maintenance and calm, spending most of her day lounging or napping. That said, she enjoys a nice walk, the occasional zoomie, and a quick game with her canine foster sibling. Her ideal match would be someone who works from home or is around often—she loves being close to her people and will happily follow you from room to room.

Dolly is the total package: loving, gentle, calm, and cuddly. All she’s missing is a family to call her own. If you’re ready to welcome a loyal, sweet girl into your life, Dolly can’t wait to meet you!
