Meet Dolce

Adoption Fee: $650
Dolce is a 5 year old Corgi-Schipperke mix who weighs 10 lbs. She was a rescue from Korea. We partner with a group that rescues dogs from the meat markets, meat farms, and city shelters where very few dogs are ever saved. She was rescued from the shelter. Just like her namesake, this girl is super sweet. She's gentle and incredibly mellow. She's a low maintenance, chill girl who adores naps above all else. If you need a couch buddy or a home office companion, look no further. Dolce is your girl! I mean, look at that face!
When Dolce first arrived in her foster home, she was understandably quite sleepy given her long journey. That said, she's shown that she's just a mellow dog! She spends much of the day sleeping on the bed, in the den on the floor, or in her foster parent's lap when they're working. When she's sleeping on the bed or on the couch, she likes to have her space. But she's also a velcro pup who will follow you from room to room. She's especially happy to follow if there are treats involved!
In her foster home, Dolce's family are early risers and wake Dolce up for their first walk around 5 or 5:30 am. Thereafter, Dolce gets a walk every three hours until 8pm, when she goes to bed in a gated area downstairs. When she first arrived in her home, she was chowing down on her food twice a day, but now the food is just left out and she eats whenever she feels like, sometimes in the middle of the night. She is a very low energy, chill dog.
Dolce is a lounger but will go out for walks. In fact, Dolce might benefit from shedding a few lbs, so exercise will be important for her! Once she gets going, she will happily walk. When she encounters dogs on walks, she often ignores them. She's working on house training. Dolce is not a fan of the crate currently, so is housed at night and alone in a contained area. She is not a nuisance barker or digger. She doesn't chew on inappropriate items, though she will occasionally scavenge from wastebaskets.
Dolce could join a dog or two in her new home or she could live by herself. She lived with a myriad of dogs in Korea, so she is well-versed in sharing her space and love with other dogs.
Dolce's ideal home is one where people are around, but not one where there's a lot of noise and excitement. She's a chill, sweet companion.
Dolce could be an option for a variety of homes, from experienced to novice. If there are children, they need to be over the age of 10 unless the children are unusually quiet in the home...
