Dobby Dachshund & Beagle Mix Cincinnati, OH

Dobby is an adorable little guy who came to STAF after being surrendered by his owner to an over-crowded rural pound. Dobby is about 2 years old, 23 pounds, and definitely is a dachshund mix.

Dobby is very gentle and sweet, and has done very well meeting new people and new dog friends. Dobby loves to take walks, to be brushed, and is only too happy to climb on to your lap for butt and head rubs. He really enjoys playing in the yard with his STAF canine friends and cannot resist a game of tug o’ war with a volunteer and a rope toy:). Being part dachshund we believe Dobby will probably be happiest in a cat free home.

“Dobby did very well! He enjoyed the car ride to and from the event, and he did very well with all the children who wanted to pet him. When we first entered the event, he was a little overwhelmed and did not want to continue walking on leash, so I carried him:). He quickly warmed up, and started playing with STAF dogs Aerin and Barrie for quite a while. At the end of the event, he was tired and falling asleep in my lap. Overall, I was impressed with him! It was a loud, busy event and he was a good boy.”

We’re looking forward to finding a family to love this cutie and stroke his silky ears for the rest of his days.

Dobby’s estimated birth date is February 2017
Dobby will need: Positive based training and consistency with his house training schedule.
Dobby will love: A home familiar with the dachshund breed. He will also love fenced backyard to chase squirrels and tennis balls. Dobby does well with other dogs and loves to take long walks.

You must be 21 years or older to adopt a dog from STAF

We require a physical fence for homes with children under the age of 11. We also may require a physical fence for specific dogs on a case-by-case basis, depending on each dog's behavior and exercise needs.

Invisible fences - Due in part to increasing coyote activity/incidents in the area and the difficulty of predicting how a dog will respond to invisible fence training--we cannot adopt to homes with invisible fences unless otherwise noted in a dog's online profile.

We do request vet and personal references.

At this time, we are only able to consider applicants within 75 miles of Cincinnati.
