Meet Dixie
Name: Dixie Sex: Female DOB: 11/11/20 Mom is Destinie and we believe mom is a Lab/terrier mix.
Dixie was adopted in January 2021 and returned to us - apparently she and the 7 year old child in the home had a mutual dislike for each other.
Dixie didn't get very big - she is only about 30 lbs. Right now we are just giving her a space to decompress in - she is REALLY stressed out and right now isn't liking anyone. We don't know the full story but apparently the 7 year old in the house didn't care for her and it apparently became obvious the feeling was mutual. The parent says that eventually the dog took the same attitude with not liking anyone. Something happened but the dog isn't able to tell us and the adopter says nothing was done to make the dog not like children.
She may be with us for a while until we can get a clearer picture on her temperament. She is starting to let the staff come in her kennel although she is still very leery of it. She is eating and that is a plus.
