Meet Dino

Hello friends! My name is Dino! I am about one and a half years old and am neutered. Here is what I kinda am hoping for in my new family:

First, I'd love it so much if you were outdoorsy and adventurous! Accompanying you in the great outdoors is what I am all about! I absolutely LOVE the water! I like to chase waves at the beach!

Also, there are so many great sniffs when on a hike or a walk and I love to find every one of 'em! I love rolling around in the grass, too! It is one of my absolutely favorite things! If you like to travel and go places, I love to ride shotgun!

Secondly, I'm a bigger guy, so I'd like my new family to be familiar and experienced with big pups like me! I like to learn things in exchange for yummy treats! My friends here say that I am a great student, so I am looking for a great teacher! I know how to sit, lay down, stay, and come. I am working on polite leash-walking but still need some work there.

Third, I would be okay if you have dogs in your home that are tolerant and dog-friendly! I'm kinda like an oversized puppy and I just wanna play with other dogs! Especially female dogs - I do best with them! Kitties in the home will need to be dog-savvy. I get scared when they don't like me but I need to learn how to respect them, too. A slow, intro would be awesome! Kiddos should probably be about 9 years and older.

A little more info about me for you: I do really good with structured training! My human friends can tell you all about it if you ask them! I'm a confident guy and will respond best with boundaries set. I am all for working for a yummy chew toy or a squeaky stuffed animal!

Some men intimidate me, so I bark at them. Once I realize that we are all friends, I am the silliest goofball with everyone and life is good! I do have a lotta energy but I also can be a lazy couch-tater.

The kennel environment is stressful to me. I may take a little extra time in the home to acclimate, please be patient as I adjust to you. Love, Dino.

P.S. If you want to meet me, you should call the shelter at (219) 872-4499 to schedule an appointment. Love again, Dino.
