Dimitri Mixed Breed Utica, NY

Dimitri is a medium size adult that can be a little timid at the beginning but once he warms up to you is a snuggle bug. He’s an “old soul”. Calm, gentle and affectionate.

He was rescued from a hoarder house along with his 4 six month old children. We don’t know what happened to mama, but Dimitri stepped into the mom role and stayed by his kid’s sides. This is something rarely seen. He put himself in from of is kids when they were approached by strangers but he was not aggressive towards them. He does not have it in him to growl or bite. He really loved and thrived being with his kids but all of his kids have been adopted so it’s his turn.

He likes walks but is not particularly active. He enjoys riding in the car as well. He’s currently being fostered and is blossoming into a more confident young man! He will do best in a calm mellow environment that matches his personality.

He gets along with other dogs and would probably do well with young children and cats.
