Meet Diamond
Hi I’m Diamond!
I’m a 1.5 year old, petite (50-pound), spayed female who was wandering the streets before these nice shelter people began caring for me in early November.
I was ignored at my first home, so this new environment was overwhelming for me. Staff and volunteers have been so patient with me and showed me how people are good; They helped me find my confidence. I even got myself adopted in early December, but my new family never came for me after my spay surgery. I know that my real forever family is still out there.
I love all people, but have lots of energy at first, so a family with kids over 5 years old would be best. I’m fine with other dogs, but can’t live with cats or chickens. I’m house-trained and good on leash.
The shelter people say that I am “special needs” because I have fairly severe luxating patellas (my knee caps don't stay where they are supposed to). They recommend exercises like 'sit-to-stand' and slow walks up a gentle incline in a harness to build up hind-limb muscle mass and encourage pushing off from my hind limbs. Sounds like just more great bonding time with my new family!
Come meet me at West Valley Humane Society, Caldwell, ID any Monday - Saturday, 11 am - 7 pm
