Meet Dexter
Dexter is an amazing 9-year-old gentleman who had been in the shelter for 5 months before he went to an ODND foster home. Dexter was really struggling in the shelter environment, but once in foster, he has proven he is a lovely boy with a fantastic personality!
Dexter absolutely lives for his humans, and enjoys laying his (rather big) head in your lap for cuddles. He enjoys walks, yard time, but most of all enjoys snoozing with you and is considered a champion at sleeping!
He does, though, enjoy a few minutes of silliness each day, running around the house chasing tennis balls, and being a goof ball. Dexter has a wonderfully calm demeanor otherwise and gets along with dogs, cats, and children of all ages.
Due to arthritis in his hips, we would ask for mellow dog companions and children who would be respectful of him. Dexter would prefer a semi-retired, retired, or work-from-home mom/dad/parent — and who can blame him after being in the shelter for 150 days?
If you’re interested in adopting Dexter, the next step is to fill out our online adoption survey at http://olddogsnewdigs.com/form-adoption.html. With that, we'll learn more about your family's preferences and lifestyle and get a sense for whether your family and Dexter will be a good match.
