Meet Dewy, an approximately 4-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix who is looking for a very special adopter. Sadly, one of Dewy’s adoptive parents was recently diagnosed with a medical condition and they can no longer keep Dewy safely in their care. His adoptive mom and dad love him fiercely and have committed to keeping him in their home until we can find a new family for him. He is described as the loveliest little dog, sweet as can be, a great little companion. He adjusted wonderfully with his family as they allowed him the time and patience he needed to settle in. Dewy is wary of strangers and people reaching over top of him to pet him. For that reason, he is best suited to a quiet home environment where there are no children and not a lot of visitors. He needs an adopter who understands his boundaries and who is willing to advocate for him. He was recently boarded with other dogs and a cat, and did well. When given a safe place to land, Dewy will wiggle his way into your heart. He likes to sleep under the covers and is very comfortable and trusting of his family. He walks well on a Halti but sometimes gets excited when he sees other dogs. He takes squirrel patrol very seriously. He is used to three walks a day which is all he needs to keep him calm and well-mannered in the home. When not exploring his yard and neighbourhood, he is most content to cuddle up with his family. Dewy has been vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and is heartworm negative. He is currently living in Waterloo. His adoption fee is $600.
