Meet Dewey

Special Need: Local Adoption Only.

Hello! My name is Dewey! I am 4 months old and currently weigh about 30 pounds. I am one of those kinds of guys who likes to sit back and watch what is going on in the world before I will jump in….I guess you would call me somewhat of an introvert. But that is nothing to be afraid of!

I am a playful boy and will love my family deeply – just you wait and see!

My mommy was pregnant when she came to HART and I was born at my foster family’s home. Jada is my mommy (a small brindle mix), and I never got to meet my daddy, but I am guessing that he was handsome since I take after him in my appearance and my projected medium-large adult size. My foster mom did one of those doggie DNA tests on my brother (who looks pretty much like me) and the results showed that the predominant breeds are standard poodle and a mix of terriers, with other breeds sprinkled in there too.

I love to run and play in a fenced backyard (a must for me!), adore squeaky toys and sticks, and have started my potty training (but still have some work to do). I love a good belly rub, know how to “sit,” and am trying to figure out how to walk on a leash.

I love other dogs and cats don’t seem to bother me. I should be very good around kids (although we haven’t been around too many for now).

The vet told my foster mom that I haven’t ‘dropped’ yet so they recommend neutering when I am 9-10 months old. Its quite common and no reason for concern.

Since HART assures all days are spayed or neutered before adoption, I am looking for someone willing to ‘foster-to-adopt’. What that means is that this person or family would be my FOREVER family, but they get to meet me and have me now instead of having to wait til I am 9-10 months old after I’m neutered! They would assume responsibility for taking me to any future vet appointments at Blue Ash Animal Care Center when I am ready to be neutered (HART will cover all medical costs) and then once that is done they can officially adopt me. It’ll be nice because I’ll all ready be settled in your home.

Im a good boy. Would you like to meet? If so, please submit your adoption application at www.rescueahart.org

All HART dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on all vaccines, including bordatella and rabies. They are heartworm tested and on preventative for heartworm, fleas, and ticks. If you are interested in any of our pets, you must complete an online dog adoption application at www.rescueAhart.org . The application will put you in touch with this wonderful dog's foster family so you can schedule a meeting. Thanks! www.rescueAhart.org
