Devoted old Tigger Plott Hound & Beagle Mix West Hartford , CT

This suuuuper sweet old guy is Tigger. He’s such a mellow love, and his heart is pretty broken. He was abandoned at a gas station and his owner was figured out through microchip. The old owner admitted to having a rapid decline in health and recognized they would no longer care for Tigger and understood the odds were against him due to being a senior. Thankfully a wonderfully loving couple agreed to take this guy in and give him tender, nurturing care until he finds a home to live out his life.
Tigger is 10, and weighs about 55 lbs. He’s some sort of catahoula, plott hound, beagle mix and he has a beautiful coat. We have had all of his medical work completed. He’s now current on vaccines, deworming, heartworm testing, preventative, microchipping and he’s neutered. His hips are a little weak which the vet has X-rayed and determined is not an orthopedic diagnosis but rather overall age related decline. He has a little tightness on his left side and favors the left. He doesn’t have any other detectable health issues, but realistically is just a slower moving, easier going guy who isn’t looking for medical interventions at this point of his life. He just is looking for peaceful and loving final chapters.
Tigger was a devoted companion, and is clearly a very intelligent and loyal pup. He’s been kind to everyone he has met as long as we have had him. He’s met several dogs and is fine with them and overall disinterested. He is not seeking to snuggle with dogs or play with them, he’s truly just looking to be your friend. One can’t imagine how confusing it is to be in the tail end of a life spent as a devoted companion, only to be completely abandoned and have to start life over when you’re just tired and looking for love, warmth and comfort.
Tigger is fantastic in the house and low key and a real sweetheart. He is great going potty outside in the yard and is also good at leash walking. He will go into a crate without issue, but doesn’t need one either.
Tigger will happily walk with you, go for a ride in the car, snuggle on the sofa, and sleep beside you. He’s been through enough and he’s such a sweet old guy. We know and a senior isn’t the average persons preference, but we also know there are some folks out there who long to ensure that a pup have true love, warmth and peace in the twilight of their life. He’s being the best boy he can be and just wants to be able to devote his heart to someone, and feel the unconditional love of a nurturing and committed parent in his last years.
