MEET DEUCE!

This tall, dark and superbly handsome guy is named Deuce! He joined City of Elderly Love after being surrendered to Philly's animal control shelter when his former owner moved away and couldn't bring him along. He was fast to win the hearts of the staff and volunteers, and quickly his foster family! 

Deuce is the most loyal companion we have ever met. He absolutely loves people and spends most of his time looking adoringly at us. Though he’s around 10 years old, his energy level and health is like that of a much younger dog. He enjoys long walks and car rides. He likes being the copilot. He recently went on vacation with his foster family and loved romping around on the beach!

Deuce is completely housebroken and crate trained. While he’ll destroy stuffed animals if he can get to them (a true puppy at heart!), he wouldn’t think of destroying anything else in the house. He has done well with the low energy dogs in his foster home and if he goes to a home with other pets, slow introductions will be necessary. He has been doing well with obedience training, but because he still has some manners to learn, and because of his size and strength, he’d do best in a home with older children, only. Deuce would love a home with someone who will continue to provide him structure as all dogs crave!

In addition to transforming into a fun, happy boy since we've gotten to know him. Deuce has also proven to be a healthy boy! He's been fully vetted and is ready to land his dream home.

Deuce is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He's also heartworm and lymes disease negative. Interested in adopting him?
