Derby is a 10-month-old canine, blessed with the curiosity of a pup, the athletic energies of a teenager and the desire to please revealed by a courteous, respectful young adult. Of all his top-of-the-line characteristics, the most impressive is his astounding focus on his human. As Derby explored the bark park, he was repeatedly called back to the photographer. He always complied with an all-out sprint and a joyful smile on his face. He did show off his canine sense of humor as he clandestinely maneuvered to the spot on the fencing where the human had placed his mask while in the park. There he helped himself to the colorful prize and briefly dashed about with his toy before returning to surrender the now drool drenched mask. He then sat down with a knowingly bemused big grin and an unmistakably proud pose. Derby is that friend that you have always wanted.
