Meet Denley Elgin

Denley Elgin is a Yorkshire terrier mix that is around 11yrs old and weighs approx 13lbs. He has canine diabetes and he will always require insulin injections and a prescription food diet and blood glucose monitoring on a strict schedule for the rest of his life.
He is in a home with other dogs, and is ok with them, but does not interact with them. He will never be another dog's companion, Denley would prefer to be either one of two dogs or even the only dog. Not because he doesn't get along with other dogs. He's good with them, but Denley is a people dog and he desperately wants his own person. He, even though he is 11yrs old, he is learning to play, he has shown interest in balls and stuffies since being in his foster home, and he would love to go on walks. He is housebroken and crate trained. He also loves to cuddle on the couch, sit with you on a binge session on Netflix. He is currently being fostered in a home with no children or cats so those are unknowns.

Denley Elgin is up to date on shots and preventatives and is microchipped. Due to his senior statur adoption fee is any donation you feel appropriate. Our adoption fee is set to a level to make adoptions happen. They do not cover our costs. Thank you for your generosity and interest in our dogs!

All dogs adopted locally through SGDR receive a free six-week session of obedience classes and a lifetime of behavior support through our Project REWARD program with trainer Charlotte Blake.

You must have an approved application before being able to visit a dog. Visit our website below for an adoption application https://www.snootygiggles.com/dog-application/

If you expect to leave the dog alone for long periods of time, please do not consider adopting a puppy. Puppies need lots of attention and companionship. Thanks.

All known information about the animal is listed above. We do our best to give accurate information, but most of our dogs are rescues and do not come with a known history.
