Meet Denali
This sweet girl is Denali! She is around 10 years old, a Min Pin and came to us from a local shelter where she was very ill and employees were concerned she would not make it through the night.
Denali was very emaciated and was very sick when rescued. She was immediately rushed to a local vet clinic where we discovered she was in ketoacidosis (Dka). She just wasn't producing enough insulin to keep her regulated. Denali spent 3 days in the hospital and her foster mom has worked hard to get her glucose where it needs to be.
After 4 months she is finally ready for adoption. Denali is diabetic and this is controlled by insulin about 12 hours apart. Denali is also on a prescribed diet and doing very well! She is taking her injections and is house trained to a dog door. She has the start of some vision issues and handling it very well.
Denali is great with other dogs and seems fine with the cats. She really loves to be near her human. Denali would enjoy some cuddle time and one on one time to tell her how special she really is.
Denali as been spayed, is current on vaccinations, has tested negative for heartworm and is also micro chipped. Recently has had a dental with some extractions and bloodwork done.
We are committed to doing our part to control the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Until life goes back to normal, we will not be doing adoption events at PetSmart. Instead, we will be doing individual meetings by appointment and practicing social distancing at each meeting.
If you are interested in adopting, please complete our online adoption application at www.uaaf.org. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please email Maryjo at maryjo_korb@msn.com or call/text at (801) 809-0602.
