Meet Delta

Hi there-my name is Delta!

I’m a young pug/beagle mix that is on the prowl for my new family. Weighing in at 34 pounds, I guess you could say I’m the perfect size. Not too big and not too small-just right! My friends tell me I’ve got quite the adorable under bite and a pretty brindled coat. I sure do have some nice friends!

After spending awhile at the kennel, one of the wonderful volunteers took me home with her until I can find my forever family. How cool is that! I currently live with two smaller dogs in my foster home that I enjoy cuddling on the couch with. If you have a dog at your place, let’s plan a meet and greet to see if we’re compatible.

As I’m a younger pup, (between one and three years old) I absolutely love to hit the trail. My mom takes me on some great adventures as you can see by my pictures. We even go on walks with some of my foster mom’s friends and their dogs. She says I’m great on a leash and I enjoy playing with the other pups. Since I ride well in the car, there’s no limit to where our adventures could take us together!

I’d love to live in an active, adult home where I can be exercised regularly and kept mentally stimulated. As I love to connect with my adults, a home with no children would be best for me. I do have some fear issues I’m working through, and I’ll need a patient, understanding adopter who can help me build my confidence. I promise I’ll do my best and know you’ll help me be the finest dog I can be!

You many wonder if I know my name and the answer is yes! My foster mom also calls me “Deli” which I just love. I will come when called and am very obedient when it comes to mealtime and receiving treats. I figure the least I can do is sit patiently and wait for my meals since my foster mom does so much for me. Once she feeds me, I like to put my foot in my food bowl to keep it still so I can enjoy every last bite! As an added bonus, I have no issues with food guarding with my fur siblings.

I always do my best to help out my foster mom with her chores. When she feeds the birds, I’m there to help her clean up anything that might spill. She says I’m such a good helper. It’s a really a win-win as I get to make her happy and get a nice snack in the process! After chore time is done, I absolutely love having non-rawhide chew treats! I’m very eager to please and my foster mom is teaching me some tricks to show my new family.

Every once in a while I like to play tug with my foster mom, though in general I’m a pretty chill pup. I tend to stay very close to her when we are inside. What can I say? She’s the best so of course I want to be near her! Outdoors, I stay within the boundaries of the yard, searching for squirrels and enjoying the occasional zoomies.

My foster mom trusts me so much that she lets me roam the house freely with my fur siblings while she is gone. I’ve never gotten into any trouble during those times, so she has never needed to put me in a crate. Though I had a few accidents when I first arrived at home, I’m now familiar with the routine and do my business outside where I’m supposed to. Now that’s gotta impress you right?

Ahhh bedtime… it’s just so cozy! My foster mom lets me burrow under the coverlet on her bed. I love how snuggly and safe it makes me feel. Throughout the day, I also enjoy napping between all my adventures.

I’m looking to my new family for a feeling of reassurance and leadership. I want nothing more than to be part of your family so we can make each other happy. I’m looking forward to being your brown-eyed girl!

If you’re ready for the next step, please fill out an application at k9stray.com and my friends will be in touch soon. Can’t wait to meet you!

Love, Delta
