Delia aka Vima aka Meegan Corgi & Terrier Mix Portland, ME

Delia is almost 9 years old (born 5/27/11) and only weighs 32 lbs. She was returned to AHR due to a change in her former owner's home. She needs a quiet home without many visitors.

Delia is a big dog in an adorable small dog’s body. This senior girl is very loyal and loving but also independent. She has been described as more like a cat than a dog. She can be affectionate/cuddly - will jump up on the bed in the morning to get belly rubs - but when she's had enough, she will let you know.
And will even use her "words" with a low growl when she is done showing affection.

Delia is crate trained but would like to spend as much time with her person as possible. She is very food/treat motivated. Delia seems to prefer female humans, but does warm up to men. She is not a fan of children, so needs to live with a single person or a couple. She really blooms in a one on one relationship. She’s a good couch potato/reading buddy.

This pup is not a fan of cats. She is dog selective, and living with one would be a bit too stressful for her. She would enjoy a household that is not too busy. A fenced yard would be best – with that and someone to keep her mentally busy, she doesn’t need too much exercise. Delia is just a strong willed little lady with a huge heart and little legs!

The adoption fee:
Under 7 months: $400
7 months to under 6 years: $350
6 years and under 9 years: $250, bonded pairs are $450
9 years and older: $200, bonded pairs are $250

This includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm / lyme / erlichea tests, worming, flea preventative and transport costs. Many other rescues do not include all the above in their adoption fees.
