Deiter Beagle Rochester, MN

This handsome boy is Dieter! Dieter is a very sweet, active, and playful 4-year-old Beagle that weighs about 23 pounds!

Dieter is an active boy who would benefit with a place to run and sniff around outside, he also enjoys his walks, and they seem to tire him out so daily walks is a must! He LOVES squirrels and bunnies and in true Beagle fashion, he alerts us when they are out the window.

Dieter is a snuggle bug, he loves to lay on your lap, and lays on his foster mom’s feet at bedtime. Dieter would benefit from someone who is home. While he doesn’t have anxiety, he may bark the first few minutes when you leave and then he’ll sit and stare at the door.

Dieter should not be in a home with small children due to previous mistreatment by children. He does fine with dog savvy older kids but an overly active house with kids coming and going would be too much for him.

Dieter lives with four other dogs (two are Beagles & two are Standard poodle mixes), has been at doggie daycare and he’s great with every dog he meets. Dieter is great with other dogs, but he doesn’t usually engage in play even though, his foster-brother Beagle is determined to get him to play! He may play tug for a few minutes but then he wants attention from his people and if he had it his way, he’d rather play with his people.

He currently lives with two cats and could care less about them. Even if his foster brother runs after them, he leaves them alone. We are working on his recall but it’s not quite there yet. He’s getting better on walks and doesn’t pull so bad if he’s on a harness.

Dieter is potty trained and knows to sit before treats and his meals. His previous foster home stated that he gets a bit stressed when he goes to the vet to get his nails trimmed and needs medication to calm him down.

Deiter is neutered, micro-chipped, intestinal parasite negative, heartworm negative, and up to date on vaccines and monthly heartworm and flea and tick prevention. His adoption fee is $350.
