Meet Declan, the cutest little special needs bulldog you will ever see! Declan is around a year old and is still full of puppy zooms (as much as a bulldog can zoom) and loves his four-legged and two-legged friends all the same. This pet is neutered, up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, heart-worm negative, and micro-chipped!

Declan is cute as can be, but will require a dedicated adopter, as he is partially bowel and urine incontinent. What does this mean? Declan wears a diaper and belly band because he lacks most control over his bowels and urine. Declan was found on the streets with a severe anal prolapse and had a good portion of his colon removed. It is believed this is what has caused his incontinence issues. While they have improved with time and healing, he still requires a diaper to keep your house clean!

Just because Declan is special needs, doesn’t make him any less loveable! Declan loves life and absolutely loves his human! He will need some decompression time in a new home – it took him a full 2 weeks to settle into his foster home. He claimed his human immediately and was a bit possessive over his foster momma with the other animals to start. After settling in, he is now just another member of the pack. He loves his foster siblings and loves wrestling with them and chewing on his bones.

With the incontinence, Declan is not potty trained and never will be. This is a life-long commitment that adopters need to be mindful of. After trial and error, Huggies diapers work best for him in combination with a washable belly band. Declan has never met a stranger and does great with a harness and leash! Declan is looking for a family that accepts his special needs while also loving his very special personality!
